Fire Kasina Meditation with Patrick D Hayes.
The Fire Kasina Meditation, described in places such as the Visuddhimagga, is an ancient concentration practice that uses the after image of a flame as the meditation object. It is a meditative practice in which you stare at a candle flame, close your eyes, and pay attention to what you see behind your closed eyes. It is the basis of deep concentration states, fascinating visual and other magickal experiences.
The yurt will only be lit by candlelight and the warmth of the fire for this meditation. Please arrive early while the lights are on to get settled.
Patrick Hayes has been practicing meditation for the past ten years. He leads a weekly meditation group in Merville that runs September to May. Patrick has guided many meditations with the Collective and also helps manage our group! We are grateful to have him share his wisdom with the Collective once again and for everything he does for our commUnity!
CVMC gatherings are on the third Monday of every month at 6:30 PM, please arrive at 6:15 to get settled and not interrupt the meditation. Sally's Yurt is located at 1957 Arden Road in Courtenay. The yurt is located near the back of the property and the door is to the far left of the yurt, not on the deck. Parking is available on the road. Meditation seating is available but feel free to bring your own comfort items.
All gatherings are by cash donation and all profits will be donated to different non-profit organizations. A donation between $5-20 is gratefully appreciated to help us pay for the rental and ensure future gatherings. We do not accept email transfers at this time so cash is appreciated to help pay for the rental and to pay it forward! We appreciate our facilitators for donating their time and energy!
