🔥Come learn how to create a fire from scratch using only materials you gather in the forest. The forest is a treasure trove of materials we can use for various purposes, including making fire! We just need to know where to find it, even in the damp wet weather.
In this workshop, you will learn how to create a fire from scratch using only materials you gather in the forest. We’ll share tips on fire safety, fire structures, and the principles behind fire—from its initial spark to the process of tending it down.
We’ll explore how to start a fire with modern tools such as flint and steel, matches, and lighters. You’ll also have the opportunity to try lighting a fire with a bowdrill coal, if you feel ready to step into that challenge.
By the end of this workshop, you'll feel more confident lighting a fire wherever you are, with whatever is available to you.
Connecting to fire and the forest in this way is empowering and helps deepen our connection to the natural world.
🔥
And Yes! It's a lot of fun.
