Film Showing- Pimlico from the Heart

An elegy & celebration of "Old Hilltop" prior to its 2025 demolition told in personal stories from John Scheinman & Vinnie Perrone.
About this Event

Eclipse Award-winning racing writers John Scheinman and Vinnie Perrone will be present during a showing of the film Pimlico from the Heart. Scheinman’s self-produced film features the two friends and colleagues as they wander through the old Pimlico racetrack one last time prior to its demolition, reminiscing about the horses, people, events, and escapades of Old Hilltop.

Scheinman delivers an elegy and a celebration of the Baltimore track, home to the historic Preakness Stakes, the second leg of horse racing’s Triple Crown. The film presents a winding conversation between Scheinman, a Baltimore resident who covered racing for eight years at The Washington Post, and Perrone, his predecessor at the paper.
