FEIT Festival Opening and Chasing the Peak (2025)
About this Event
Join us for the opening night of the FEIT Film Festival, proudly presented in partnership with Melbourne University Racing (MUR)!
Under this year’s theme, Chasing the Current, we kick off the festival with the documentary Chasing the Peak(2025). The film follows three Swiss engineers who stripped down a 7-ton diesel truck and rebuilt it into Terren—a fully electric, solar-charged off-road vehicle. Watch their record-breaking journey from the Chilean Pacific coast to the top of the world’s highest volcano, Ojos del Salado, reaching a Guinness World Record height of 6,490 meters.
Special Guests
This exclusive opening night features an incredible lineup of engineering and filmmaking talent:
- Claudio von Planta: The documentary's director will be joining us live in person for the event!
- Andy Hadland (Executive Director, BW ESS): An Imperial College London alumnus and former member of Imperial Formula Racing, Andy will talk about his student racing days.
- The MUR Team: Members of the Melbourne University Racing team will be on hand, bringing their own cutting-edge student racing insights to the venue.
Stay tuned for an interactive Q&A session featuring Claudio von Planta, Andy Hadland and members of the MUR team. It is a unique opportunity to chat about electric innovation, extreme engineering, and student racing!
The FEIT Film Festival is co-sponsored by the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Melbourne, the Melbourne Energy Institute and the Consulate General of Switzerland in Sydney.
