Feeding for Success: Small Ruminant Nutrition
About this Event
Whether you’re new to sheep and goat care or looking to improve your feeding program, this workshop will provide practical information to help you make informed nutrition and grazing management decisions. Participants will learn how to evaluate feed and forage options, select appropriate mineral supplements, meet nutritional requirements throughout the production cycle, identify toxic plants, and develop grazing strategies that support animal health and productivity.
5:00pm-5:30pm: Welcome & Introductions
· A light meal and refreshments will be served.
5:30pm-6:30pm: Feed selection, mineral supplementation, and nutritional needs by life stage with CUCES Livestock & Forages Associate Maggie Miller
6:30pm-7:30pm: Grazing management, hay quality, and plant toxicity with CUCES Area Livestock & Forages Agent Hannah Conover
