Family Art Fun Day: Every ball is thrown into the future!

In this Family Art Fun Day, explore the futuristic experiments and handmade ecosystems in Amy and Meitao’s exhibition. With our new Facilitator-in-Residence, Michael Crowe, join in playful drawing and creative writing, to explore these new worlds like detectives peering into a snow-globe of imagination. Shrink down, look around and shake ideas up!

As a family, you’ll ask questions like ‘What’s this art doing to me? Why and how?’ Together, you will find out why being creative is so important and how to look at art in new, exciting ways.

As a bonus, every attendee will receive a super special silver diary from the future. What will you write in it? Can you predict tomorrow? Can you predict the deep future??

Please make sure you arrive at least 5 minutes before the session begins!

Michael Crowe is a writer, artist and teacher based in St Albans. His work has shown up at LACMA, in St Gallen, and at Le Plateau in Paris, and he's talked about it at the New Museum NY and the BFI. He runs Spaghetti Club [@spaghetti_clurb], a creative writing and thinking project for children, named one of Frieze Magazine's best exhibitions in the UK and Ireland. Michael has also taught a dance workshop in Korea, published an Oulipo-themed book on GTA Online, and designed fictional flowers for LEGO.

Around 30% of people booking free tickets don't attend. As a charity, we aim to support people who need creative opportunities the most and our free tickets are limited and in high demand. Every person who doesn’t turn up means someone else can’t attend, so please let us know if you can’t make it to free up a space. If you don’t attend twice or more without letting us know, you may be restricted from booking again.
