Fall Equinox Sunset Hike

Celebrate the Fall Equinox with an evening hike at Seven Islands State Birding Park. As day and night reach a balance, we’ll explore the changing landscape and enjoy the sights and sounds of the park as the sun sets. This is a chance to slow down, enjoy the transition into fall, and learn a little about the seasonal changes happening around us. We’ll finish the hike as the sun dips below the horizon, so come ready to enjoy a beautiful fall evening outdoors.
Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 6:30 Be prepared to walk 2-3 miles over both paved and unpaved surfaces. For more details about the route we will take, read the Essential Eligibility Criteria. The hike will last approximately 2 hours and will include stops to enjoy the sunset, observe wildlife, and talk about the changing seasons.
The cost of this program is $10 per participant. Children under 5 are free with a paying adult.
Please come prepared with good walking shoes, sunscreen, and a water bottle. Bring a flashlight or headlamp for the walk back after sunset, and consider bringing a light jacket as temperatures may cool during the evening. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals.
