Event Details: Bonfire and time for fellowship begins at 7:30pm, and the talk begins at 8pm. We will be located in the field to the left of St Philip’s main entrance - at the fire pit (7500 St Philips Ct, Falls Church, VA). S’mores, snacks, and refreshments will be provided for enjoyment, but please feel free to bring your own snacks or beverages to share! Seating is available, and lawn chairs are also encouraged.
Talk Details: This year, we celebrate the 800th year since St. Francis' death in 1226, which is why Pope Leo XIV declared it a special Jubilee Year for this beloved Saint! Come listen to the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist as they discuss St. Francis' witness to the Gospel and reflect on inspirations from his life.
Speaker Bio: The Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist were founded in 1973 by a decree of the Vatican’s Sacred Congregation for Religious. Five Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist moved to Falls Church, VA on August 28, 2006, to begin a new mission in the Diocese of Arlington at the invitation of Bishop Paul Loverde. The center in Falls Church is dedicated to promoting the dignity of the human person and family life. Sisters work in a local school, a parish, the diocese's home for retired priests, The Catholic University of America, and provide spiritual and theological guidance.
