Howard County Historical Society presents America at 250: Howard County & Beyond. In this lecture series, we will explore topics related to America’s Semiquincentennial, including local stories and those on a national level.
Join us for our second lecture in this series June 17 at 6 PM at Kresge Auditorium at IU Kokomo!
Howard County Historian Gil Porter will explore the life and experiences of Aliff Henley, a woman born enslaved in Virginia before the Revolution. She would later become the first African American to own land in Howard County, Indiana.
