Where it all began! Before the British arrived, Manhattan island was a Dutch trading post with every nationality and ethnic group imaginable and speakers of 18 different languages. Now home to Wall Street and the Stock Exchange, we will visit Federal Hall where Washington was inaugurated, Fraunces' Tavern where rebellion simmered, Bowling Green where patriots toppled an equestrian statue of George Ill, and the Trinity Church graveyard where Alexander and Eliza Hamilton are buried.
