Coming this November to the Foothills Performing Arts Center: The 24 Hour Play Festival!
Several completely original new short plays will be written, rehearsed, and performed all in the span of 24 short hours.
Do you love writing and savor a challenge? Sign up to be a writer!
Do you have experience directing and want a challenge without the long rehearsal process? Or have you always wanted to direct but want a crash course before your first full production? Sign up to be a director!
Have you wanted to get onstage but your schedule won’t allow it? Or maybe you want to give acting a shot in a low stakes supportive environment? Sign up to be an actor!
If you want to participate as a writer, director, actor, or in another capacity please fill out the following form by 5pm on Sunday November 1: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdNRVnxH9UkrgUQNNSZFYVu3v7INEpEtK-CqRQ9W0PfY1I3kA/viewform?usp=sharing&ouid=116425422506537822863
Festival organizers will be in touch to confirm your assignment. Please read all of the information in the sign up form carefully before submitting and reach out with any questions.
On Friday November 20 at 5pm participants will gather for the kick off mixer. At the kick off teams will be announced and you will have a chance to mingle with your fellow participants before the writers are left for the evening with only 12 hours to write a completely new short play. In the morning directors and actors will return and have only a short time to rehearse before bringing these new works to life in front of a live audience! There may be some surprise challenges and twists along the way and the only way to find out is to experience it as a participant!
And for those who would prefer to participate as an audience member, performances will be held the following evening on Saturday November 21 at 7 p.m.
Admission to the performances is free (suggested donation $10) and funds raised will support future Foothills PAC theatrical programming such as our production of POTUS by Selina Fillinger coming April 2027.
Join us for what promises to be a weekend full of creative theatrical chaos!
