Join us at the Alliance Française de Pretoria on Thursday, 10 September at 18:00 for the opening of Reflections and Memories, a joint exhibition by artists Anne Pienaar and Lynné Maré.
Bringing together two individual artistic perspectives, Reflections and Memories explores the ways we experience, remember and interpret the world around us. The exhibition invites us to consider the connections between memory, perception, emotion and the senses, and how familiar experiences can take on new meaning when viewed from a different perspective.
The works encourage us to pause and look more closely—to reflect on the moments, sensations and impressions that stay with us. From the rhythms and details of the natural world to the personal echoes of lived experience, the exhibition celebrates the many ways in which we see, feel, remember and connect.
At the heart of the exhibition is an invitation to slow down and engage with the works on a personal level. What memories do they evoke? What emotions do they awaken? And what might we discover when we take the time to truly look?
