South African artist and musician Arno Carstens presents Immortal Blooms for its debut exhibition on Friday, 16 October 2026, at the Fairtree Atterbury Theatre, Pretoria. The evening opens with an art exhibition at 6pm, followed by a live performance at 7pm. A rare occasion where Carstens’ two creative worlds meet on the same night.
Immortal Blooms is a live music and art event bringing together an opening night art exhibition with a live performance by Arno Carstens. The evening begins with a walk-through of twenty new oil on canvas artworks, all available for acquisition on the night, before Carstens takes to the stage for a 90-minute set spanning some of the most celebrated songs of his career. Performing in both English and Afrikaans, the set draws from across his career with songs including Another Universe, Hoe Gaan Dit, Dreamer, Tjoepstil, Out of the Blue and Hole Heart.
This is a rare opportunity to experience Carstens’ dual creative practice in a single evening, as a visual artist and as a performer, and to acquire an original work from a brand new collection on its debut night.
