Every(body) Wants to Be a Showgirl Minneapolis
About this Event
Every(body) Wants to Be a Showgirl is a Black-led, community-informed, and ethically curated traveling exhibition celebrating the artistry, cultural power, and living legacy of Black burlesque performers across North America and beyond.
This June, the exhibition arrives in Minneapolis for its Juneteenth Jubilee Edition — honoring the Twin Cities performance community and the rich legacy of Black burlesque performers who have helped build and sustain this art form. Through costumes, archival materials, immersive installations, live performances, and community programming, EWTBAS centers living artists while honoring the lineage that came before them.
Previously exhibited at Dupont Underground in Washington, D.C. and presented in partnership with the Metro Cabaret Club, Infringement Productions, The Rose Academy of Burlesque, Soverigntease Productions, Volsteads, and Burlesque Hall of Fame.
Admission is free. Tickets are reserved in 30-minute time slots. A $5 donation at the door is appreciated but not required.
