This isn't just a show; it's a powerful celebration of liberation and freedom, specifically tailored to showcase the incredible beauty and resilience of Black and Brown bodies and identities within the dynamic world of Burlesque. Get ready to be mesmerized by an unforgettable evening featuring some of the most talented and prolific artists from across the United States. The Twin Cities are invited to witness this extraordinary two night event, where the Lush Lounge and Theater will be transformed into a stage for the dazzling facets of Black Performance Artists, unapologetically taking up space and redefining the boundaries of artistry. This traveling exhibition, "Every(body) Wants to Be a Showgirl: Juneteenth Jubilee Edition," celebrates the artistry, innovation, and enduring legacy of Black burlesque performers across North America. Hosted by The Rose Academy of Burlesque, this multi-day cultural event honors the significant impact Black burlesque artists have had on American entertainment, fashion, nightlife, and performance history, often overlooked by institutions. Featuring over 100 Black performers from around the world, this immersive experience showcases costumes, archival materials, photography, video installations, and live programming, centering both legendary and contemporary artists shaping the future of burlesque. Curated by Aquarius Moon and presented in partnership with Infringement Productions and Metro Cabaret Club, the exhibition uplifts Black performance traditions while creating space for celebration, education, visibility, and community connection during Juneteenth weekend.

About the Exhibition: Every(body) Wants to Be a Showgirl explores the global influence of Black burlesque through visual storytelling, historical preservation, and contemporary performance culture. Guests can experience archival photography and memorabilia, costume displays and performance artifacts, interactive and immersive installations, educational and cultural programming, and featured artists from across North America and beyond. This exhibition is designed for lovers of burlesque, performance art, Black history, fashion, nightlife culture, and live entertainment.

Celebrate liberation, artistry, and unapologetic self-expression at the 5th Annual Juneteenth Jubilee Workshop Weekend presented by The Rose Academy of Burlesque in partnership with Tré Da Marc. This immersive two-day experience uplifts Black and Brown performers through burlesque, drag, dance, movement, and theatrical storytelling.Join nationally celebrated instructors and performers for empowering workshops designed for all experience levels. Whether you are brand new to performance art or a seasoned entertainer, this weekend offers space to learn, connect, heal, and celebrate the rich Black roots of burlesque culture.Participants will explore sensual movement, stage presence, musicality, confidence-building, storytelling, prop work, and personal artistry in an inclusive and affirming environment.
