European Day of Languages: Strengthening Multilingual Education in New York
About this Event
Every year around September 26th, European Day of Languages celebrates linguistic diversity across Europe and the world. This year, EUNIC New York is bringing together European cultural institutes, the NYC and NYS Departments of Education, school leaders, language advocacy organizations, and certification bodies for a half-day convening on the future of multilingual education in New York.
Through a policy framing conversation, two expert panels, and informal networking over a European Smorgasbord, we will explore what it takes to support multilingual learners, recognize language skills, and build pathways for New York students from the classroom to college, careers, and civic life.
Educators, school leaders, policymakers, language advocates, and European cultural institutes will gather for a morning of dialogue, connection, and action.
