About this Event

Join the EU Book Club: Juli Zeh’s Corpus Delicti

Join us for an evening of literature, conversation and European culture at the historic Roedde House Museum in downtown Vancouver.

This year’s German edition of the EU Book Club explores Corpus Delicti by acclaimed German author Juli Zeh. Set in a future society where health has become the highest principle, the novel raises thought-provoking questions about individual freedom, responsibility and the role of the state.

The evening will begin with a High Tea reception featuring a selection of savoury and sweet treats, followed by a lively discussion led by Dr. Florian Gassner from the Department of Central, Eastern and Northern European Studies at the University of British Columbia.

Guests are also invited to join an optional guided tour of the Roedde House Museum after the discussion and discover the history of this beautifully preserved heritage home.

Whether you are a longtime member of the EU Book Club or joining for the first time, we warmly invite you to read Corpus Delicti and join the conversation.
