Stephen Jenkinson: Trembling, Still
About this Event
This is an In-Person Event at Banyen Books in Vancouver.
Advance registration required | Limited seating
Join us at Banyen Books to welcome Stephen Jenkinson and celebrate his new book, Trembling, Still: The Awful Clarity of a Mind in Eclipse. Stephen will speak and take questions for approximately one hour, followed by a book signing.
Trembling, Still is a raw and lyrical account of what happens when the person who has spent decades accompanying others through grief, illness, death, and dying suddenly finds himself on the receiving end of a life-altering diagnosis. Written as a series of journal entries, the book is a deeply personal meditation on illness, loss, sorrow, and the soul’s work.
Stephen Jenkinson, MTS, MSW, is a culture activist, teacher, and author of Die Wise, Come of Age, Reckoning, Matrimony, and other works exploring grief, death, elderhood, culture, and the human experience. A former palliative-care program director and medical-school assistant professor, he is the creator of the Orphan Wisdom School and co-founder of the Nights of Grief & Mystery tours.
