Ethnic Carpet | Watercolour and Oil Pastel Workshop
About this Event
Working with colour, pattern, and intuitive mark-making, you’ll create your own contemporary interpretation of an Ethnic Carpet - a symbolic composition celebrating culture, nature, harmony, and personal expression. Birds, animals, floral motifs, geometric patterns, and radiant sun become part of a richly layered visual language that is uniquely your own.
During this workshop you will explore:
• Creative warm-up exercises that encourage confidence and free expression
• The fundamentals of colour theory and harmonious colour combinations
• The emotional language and psychology of colour
• Pattern-making and the development of decorative compositions inspired by ethnic art traditions
• A unique mixed-media technique combining watercolour with oil pastels to achieve luminous colour and expressive texture
Whether you’re picking up a brush for the very first time or looking to expand your artistic practice, this workshop offers an engaging and supportive environment to experiment, learn, and create.
No previous experience is required. The process is designed to be accessible for complete beginners while offering fresh inspiration for practising artists.
More than simply learning a technique, this workshop is an invitation to slow down, reconnect with your creativity, and experience the meditative pleasure of making art. You will leave with a finished artwork that is both personal and expressive.
