Ethical Leadership Forum for Alumni
About this Event
SStS Alumni at the Forum: Reconnect, Reflect, and Lead Beyond the Field
October 8–9, 2026 • Vail Village, Colorado
When Your Field Study Ends, How Does Your Impact Continue?
Shoulder to Shoulder experiences are designed to be transformative. Yet one core question remains long after returning home:
How do you take the ethical leadership, perspective, and personal growth from your course and build it into your college, career, and daily life?
The Answer: Join us for an alumni track designed to reconnect our community, highlight your stories, and integrate you into the broader ethical leadership conversation. Kick off the experience with a social dinner on Thurdsay evening, followed by a full Friday of dedicated alumni programming, high-level panel discussions, and collaborative sessions.
Friday Alumni Highlights
- Alumni Breakfast: Reconnecting & Re-Imagining the Network. A dedicated hour long breakfast session to catch up with fellow alumni, hear what SStS has been up to, and brainstorm actionable ways to strengthen the SStS alumni ecosystem together.
- Alumni Panel: Beyond the Field Study. Alumni take center stage to present to educators, school leaders, and peers on how their field study transformed their transition to college, early careers, workspaces, and local community initiatives.
- Business Session: Employee Health as Community Investment. Presented with Vail Valley Works, local business leaders examine how supporting employee health and investing in local communities go hand in hand.
- Forum Plenary Session: Health Care as a Moral Ecosystem. Join the full Forum for a panel and Jeffersonian-style conversation exploring the shared obligations of businesses, nonprofits, civic organizations, and citizens in helping communities flourish.
Who Should Attend?
All SStS alumni, no matter when or where you traveled, who want to reconnect with community, share their journey since their program, and collaborate with business, healthcare, and educational leaders.
