Join us for a special LIVE MUSIC slow flow and contact improv dance journey. This dance will be a conversation between the musicians and dancers with a LIVE electronic and acoustic dance set with Matthew Beck and Krystina Vázquez!

We will open with a cacao and rose tea circle as well as with some brief breathwork and guided meditation to drop into our intentions, bodies, unique energy and to connect with the container for the space. The dance will afterwards begin slowly on the floor, and we will work our way up to our feet, and optional interaction with each other or the group.
The artists will be weaving live instrumentation including original downtempo house beats with layered guitars, angelic looped vocals, world percussion, spoken word guidance, flutes, and bass. The music & pace are intentionally slow and spacious so you can sink deeply into the sensations of your body, your desires, your edges, and feel every rhythm, tone, and vibration.
The slower tempo opens the door for guided contact improv, subtle partner connection, and group movement, but you can also stay completely in your own space if that’s what feels right. Whether you choose to dance in your own journey or interact with others, we will be attuning to our center and authentic desires, body sensations, and intentions, continually returning to our center through this dance as a guiding post.
You can expect chapters of slowness, inwardness, and silly play, along with those of uptempo house music and faster waves energy riding on deep sub-bass rhythms at the peak of the experience. Its the perfect blend of acoustic and electronic flavors!
Note: This event includes a cup of ceremonial cacao and/or loose leaf rose tea. Matt and Krystina have been producing this 100% original dance set for an entire year, and the journey is finally here for exploration!

Flow of the Evening:

Stillness/Sound Journey: Bowls, Flutes, Vocals — 15-20 min
Mingling — 30 min (10:00 pm)
NOTES:
Please arrive close to 6:45 as the circle begins punctually at 7:00.
Mingling is baked into the event. You are also welcome to leave when the dance closes at 9:30.
The studio will provide mats and eye masks for the sound bath and stillness portion at the end. You’re welcome to bring additional cozy items such as blankets and pillows.
Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated (tea will be available)
Wear clothing you can comfortably move and rest in.
We ask that you don’t wear strong scents or perfumes

Facilitator Bios:
Matthew recently spent 2.5 years living in a few different countries in Central America, where live-music contact improv, ritual dance, and ecstatic dance were weekly containers — a practice that set his heart on fire and that he's been longing to bring to this area for a long time. He comes from a background of teaching yoga, meditation, and intuitive healing, along with playing in bands and performing as a guitarist, bassist, and sound healing artist. His intention is to help dancers drop into an altered or deeper state of consciousness and to weave the formless into form through dance, vibration, cathartic release, eros, and deepening awareness.
Krystina is a classically trained vocalist and live-looping sound healing artist. She weaves a meditative journey of somatic healing and self-discovery drawing from a deep connection to music as medicine — guiding listeners into a space of healing at their core. Her sound integrates soothing vocals with vibrations from crystal bowls, vocal harmony and percussive instruments.
