Join us on Tuesday 1 September at 7pm at The Bvlgari Hotel (171 Knightsbridge, London SW7 1DW) for an intimate in-conversation with acclaimed actor Ray Winstone, hosted by Esquire UK Editor-in-Chief Teo van de Broeke.
The evening will begin with drinks and canapés before moving into a live conversation with Ray Winstone, reflecting on his extraordinary life and career spanning more than five decades in British and international film and television.
Ray will share stories from across his journey, from his early days growing up in Hackney and his start in Scum, to iconic roles in films such as Quadrophenia, Sexy Beast, Nil By Mouth, The Departed, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, as well as recent projects including The Gentlemen and Damsel.
He will also reflect on working with some of the world’s most celebrated directors and actors, the characters that have defined him, and the moments that have shaped his career on and off screen.
Light refreshments will be served as part of your ticket, with drinks provided by our official partner, Glenmorangie.
MEET OUR SPEAKERS
RAY WINSTONE
Ray Winstone is one of the UK’s most prolific actors, with over 50 years in the industry.
He will reprise his role as ‘Bobby Glass’ in The Gentlemen (Netflix) and star in Netflix’s survival thriller Yeti alongside Chris Pine, he has also been announced as the lead in Amazon Prime’s upcoming action-comedy series Danger Money. In 2024, he appeared in Damsel as ‘Lord Bayford’ opposite Millie Bobby Brown.
He received the Richard Harris Award at the British Independent Film Awards for his outstanding contribution to British cinema, recognising iconic roles from Scum (1979), Quadrophenia, Ladybird, The Departed, Nil By Mouth (for which he won Best Actor), and Sexy Beast (BAFTA-nominated performance).
His extensive film career includes King of Thieves, Noah, Hugo, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, The Proposition, Beowulf, King Arthur, Black Widow, Snow White and the Huntsman, and voice work in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.
TV credits include Great Expectations, The Trials of Jimmy Rose, Vincent (International Emmy for Best Actor), and The Nightmare World of HG Wells.
TEO VAN DEN BROEKE
Teo van den Broeke joined Esquire UK as Editor-in-Chief in April 2025. Teo is an author and award-winning journalist and podcaster. He began his career in journalism in 2010, serving as Style Director for Esquire UK and British GQ before joining Soho House as Global Editorial Director in 2022, where he helped develop and execute the brand’s worldwide content strategy. His memoir, The Closet, was published by HarperCollins in 2023.
