Discover the science behind the natural world at Juniata College’s Environmental Science and Geology Camp, an overnight experience for rising seniors (Class of 2027) and juniors (Class of 2028).
This immersive camp introduces students to Juniata’s Environmental Science and Geology Departments and the College’s residential field station at Raystown Lake. Participants will engage in hands-on activities, environmental field experiences, and outdoor exploration while learning more about careers and college pathways in the sciences.
Camp highlights include:
• A field trip to Lincoln Caverns
• Hands-on learning at Raystown Lake
• A tour of the Raystown Field Station
• Evening activities and an observatory experience (weather permitting)
• An overnight stay on Juniata’s campus
Students and their families/supporters will also participate in Juniata’s First Look program on Monday, July 20 to learn more about the College, admissions process, financial aid, and campus life.
A non-refundable $50 registration fee applies.
Camp Schedule
Sunday, July 19
9:30–10 a.m. – Camp check-in
10 a.m. – Camp activities begin
10:15 a.m.–1 p.m. – Lincoln Caverns activity and picnic lunch
2–2:30 p.m. – Tour of Raystown Field Station
2:30–4 p.m. – Raystown Lake Module
4–8 p.m. – Dinner and evening activities at Raystown Field Station
9–10:30 p.m. – Observatory activity (weather permitting)
10:30 p.m. – Overnight stay on Juniata’s campus
Monday, July 20
9 a.m. – Breakfast
10 a.m. – First Look check-in and parent meet-up
10:45 a.m.–2:40 p.m. – First Look
Participants will automatically be registered for the corresponding First Look program when registering for camp.
