How to engage with Parliament and policymakers, with expert talks, Q&A, and an opportunity for networking,
About this Event

This is for any researchers interested in seeing how their research can influence and effect government policy.

The event will introduce experts from Parliamentary Outreach, from active Westminster Select Committees, and from the parliamentary library as well as specialists from UoL, to present subjects such as:

· How to discover opportunities and routes for your research to be used by government

· How to pitch and propose your research to MPs

· How to present research to parliament – and what ‘not’ to do

· How research from Liverpool can make a measurable policy impact

· How to build a network with policymakers

· What structures and support are in place to help start engaging with parliament

After presentations there will be a Q&A session with all the speakers followed by lunch and networking opportunity.

This event will be beneficial to anyone looking to start or build up these connections with parliament, and will be of particular interest for authors of shortlisted impact case studies who are interested in having their research read and used by MPs and government

The event will be taking place in The Spine, 2 Paddington Village, L7 3FA.
