About this Event
Healthcare for People Seeking Sanctuary
Join us in person for an insightful one-day conference exploring how we can improve healthcare for people seeking sanctuary in the UK, hosted by Brownlow Health PCN.
This event is aimed at healthcare workers, students, and those working, volunteering, or organising in related fields—but we warmly welcome anyone interested in learning more and sharing their experiences.
The day will include a range of engaging sessions covering:
- Common mental health issues
- Trauma-informed care
- Infectious diseases
- Creative approaches to health and wellbeing
We will also host discussions led by people with lived experience of seeking sanctuary, exploring:
- How the UK asylum system impacts health
- Barriers to accessing healthcare
- Community-led approaches to improving health outcomes
Alongside the programme, community groups and third sector organisations from Liverpool and beyond will be present to share their work, offering a valuable opportunity to connect, learn, and collaborate.
This is a space to meet like-minded people, reflect on current challenges, and think collectively about how we can improve the provision of care for those seeking sanctuary.
A full agenda will be shared closer to the event.
