Event Description:
Join Trauma-informed Personal Trainer Gabi Varga and Trauma Therapist Gabriella Evans for a unique workshop designed to help women heal from trauma through a blend of educational, therapeutic, and movement-based offerings. This experiential workshop focuses on recognizing the impacts of trauma on the nervous system and exploring how nervous system awareness can facilitate healing. Participants will also get to engage in a trauma-informed movement practice to support their healing journey.
Event Highlights: Connect with Your Body
- Participate in a 60-minute gentle movement practice that includes stretching, simple yoga, bodyweight strength, and somatic movements
- Learn practical strategies for shifting between nervous system states and becoming more present and comfortable in your body
- Engage in therapeutic journaling and connection exercises to deepen your self-awareness
What to Bring:
- A yoga mat
- Comfy clothes
- A blanket (if needed to stay warm during meditative pieces)
- A journal (if you like to take notes)
- Water or tea
Who Should Attend:
This workshop is designed for you if you:
- Want to connect to your body more but haven’t found a safe space to do so
- Want to learn to trust your body signals
- Have experienced past psychological or emotional pain that is still carried in your body
- Have no previous experience or fitness background OR you have fitness experience but you could have a healthier relationship with movement
- May or may not have movement restrictions and are looking for gentle, accessible practices

- A brief overview of trauma and the human nervous system
- Practical strategies for shifting between nervous system states
- A guided self-compassion practice for deep healing
- A 60-minute movement practice
- Easy-to-follow, gentle movement routines
- A safe, supportive environment to explore and process what arises

About the Facilitators:
This workshop is led by Gabriella Evans, a Registered Clinical Counsellor and experienced Trauma Therapist, and Trauma-informed Personal Trainer Gabi Varga. Each with lived experience of healing from trauma and a deep commitment to helping other women heal, our facilitators bring a wealth of knowledge and compassion to their gentle, mindful ways of practicing.
