Emperor Liang Repentance: 7 Days to Clear the Mind, San Francisco
About this Event
A 1,500-Year-Old Practice of Reflection, Healing, and Renewal
The Emperor Liang Repentance grew from an ancient Chinese emperor’s love for his late wife and his heartfelt wish to ease her suffering beyond death.
For more than 1,500 years, people have taken part in this Buddhist ceremony to reflect honestly on the past, make peace with mistakes, release resentment, and loosen the burdens they have carried.
Through guided reflection, repentance, and the dedication of merit—offering the goodness of the practice for others—we create space for healing and renewal. The blessings may be dedicated to ourselves, to loved ones living or departed, and ultimately to all beings.
An invitation to honor the past, open the heart, and begin again.
