About this Event
“It’s Giving Hella Pasifika” is a month-long exhibition hosted by the Teu le Vā Collective. This year’s theme is Pasifika Joy: A Collective Homecoming. This exhibition serves as an offering of teu le vā, which in Sāmoan means to nurture the space between us—teu (to care) for the vā (the space) that connects our relationships.
For us, teu le vā signifies the commitment to create and provide a gathering space for our Pasifika community. Our goal is to sow seeds and cultivate even more connections, collaborations, exhibitions, and spaces that celebrate our Pasifika identity!
The Essence of the Exhibition
At the heart of this exhibition lies our mission to redefine Art and Artistry, providing a platform for Pasifika artists in San Francisco.
Homecoming Matters because when we reconnect with our roots, we honor our ancestors their journey and resilience. We remember our strength and the indigenous wisdom that has challenged conventional Western value systems.
