About this Event
Learn about famous artist Emily Carr's small-scale domestic works which decorated the house. These include 19th Century Eastern Canadian-type rag rugs which have an element of "folk art" about them. Participants will listen to an informative Art History Presentation, discuss Emily's Carr's lesser-known practice in this artform, and learn how to create a simple table-runner inspired by Emily.
This class is a part of an ongoing "Odds and Ends" series; a collection of workshops facilitated by contemporary artist and art historian Dr. Lycia Trouton (www.lyciatrouton.com) which dive deeper into Emily Carr's history. Stay tuned for more upcoming classes in this unique series!
