This training goes far beyond physical skill development. It’s designed to help you become a confident and capable instructor. You’ll learn how to improve movement patterns in others, cue concisely and effectively, and intelligently program for both group and individual sessions. You'll also develop the ability to explain anatomical actions and empower others to understand and connect with their own bodies. Upon completion, participants will receive 70 Continuing Education Credits through BCRPA, and may have opportunities to teach with us afterward.
Led by experienced and passionate coaches, Katie Thacker and Brandon Sherbrook, who have guided thousands of people through kettlebell training, this course will strengthen your communication skills, deepen your understanding of the human body, and help you grow as a leader and coach. It’s also a powerful way to improve your own fitness and movement capacity.
Each attendee will receive a comprehensive manual covering all course material. Topics include: the ethics of being a teacher, benefits of movement and group fitness, kettlebell history, breathing and bracing techniques, anatomy and the musculoskeletal system, functional anatomy of major joints, the cardiorespiratory and endocrine systems, the science of hypertrophy, mechanics of over 60 kettlebell movements and 40 warm-up/cool-down techniques, programming and sequencing, cueing and observational skills, teaching principles, preparing a class environment, building community, giving demonstrations, organizing events and workshops, and understanding safety and health considerations.
This is an incredible opportunity to learn from expert instructors in a supportive, community-centered environment. Join us this fall to take your coaching to the next level.
