Embodied Voices: A Poetry Reading and Conversation
About this Event
*This event will take place in person at Hudson Park Library.
Join us at the library for an evening of powerful poetry readings and discussion with poets Iain Haley Pollock, Carey Salerno, and Michael M. Weinstein, each celebrating the release of a new poetry collection. Their work explores how the body—as Black, as trans/disabled, and as female with chronic illness—shapes personal experience and public perception in today’s world. Together, these poets invite us to reflect on how we see ourselves and others, and how physical identity can grant or restrict access to spaces—both in society and within ourselves. The reading and conversation will be moderated by poet Nicole Cooley, offering further insight into the themes of identity, visibility, and belonging.
All are welcome to attend this evening of thought-provoking poetry and dialogue.
