About this Event
Come join us at Shakti in the Mountains for an exciting hands-on, herbal medicine-making class. Lesley, with Appalachian Alchemy, is teaching us how to prepare herbal syrups such as immune boosting elderberry, expectorant wild cherry bark syrup, and simple syrups for mocktails and food. Whether you're seeking an effective remedy for the common cold, flu prevention, allergy relief or simply looking to connect with like-minded people in our community, this workshop is perfect for you.
In this workshop, you will learn about the benefits of medicinal herbs, which ones work best in syrup form, how to grow and forage for these herbs, formulate syrup recipes for various conditions, and watch a hands on demonstration creating these medicinal syrups.
Each participant will leave with their own bottle to share with family, friends, or to keep for themselves. A full-color worksheet will be provided with herb descriptions, instructions, and tips so you can practice your new skill at home.
Please bring a pint jar with a lid, notebook, and pen. Each participant will have the opportunity to buy elderberry syrup and other herbal remedies after class.
Don't miss this opportunity to reconnect with nature and empower yourself and your loved ones with the healing power of herbs. Register now for the Medicinal Syrup Workshop and embark on a journey towards a healthier and more resilient you.

Meet Lesley Vernon
Using intuition and Wise Woman traditions, I create potent herbal products in small batches with love, intention, and reverence. I use the highest quality plant material that is almost all local and all organically grown or wildcrafted. Each herb is harvested at peak potency and carefully crafted into safe, simple, and effective herbal products.
Herbal medicine is and always will be the medicine of the people. This is our traditional medicine passed down through generations of healers and not just "alternative medicine." I promote education, empowerment, and easy accessibility to use these ancient plant traditions to care for ourselves, our families, and our community. Plant medicine is not learned, it is remembered and awakened deep from within. Plant medicine connects us back to the land, our roots, and back to a more simple place of love.
