About this Event
This program features two short films, selected at international film festivals like the Arab Film Festival, by local Palestinian filmmaker Rame Ibrahim. He has been shortlisted at the Young Director Awards (YDA) at Cannes Lions 2025. His films offer intergenerational portrayals of Palestinian dispossession and diaspora. They explore the passage of time and intergenerational trauma reflecting on Palestinian life post-Nakba, whether as refugees in Syria or immigrants to Canada.
Following the screening will be a discussion moderated by Dr. André Elias Mazawi (UBC) and Q&A session with the cast and crew of Prisoner.
Location: Labatt Hall and Theatre, SFU Harbour Centre Room 1700
Doors open at 5:30 PM
Light refreshments will be provided
