We’ve been hearing from more and more education providers and community services wanting to strengthen their connections with Aboriginal community, and asking how to do this in a respectful and meaningful way.
To support this, Winjan is hosting Education Through a Cultural Lens, a cultural workshop bringing people together in one space on Country.
Led by respected Bindjareb Elder Uncle George Walley and Winjan Ranger Matthew Farmer-Bennell, this two-hour session offers an introductory yarn on embedding Aboriginal culture into education and service delivery.
This workshop will explore:
🌿 Practical ways to engage with Aboriginal culture respectfully
🌿 Building cultural confidence within your service
🌿 Strengthening relationships with community
🌿 Creating inclusive environments for Aboriginal children, families and community
🌿 Lived experience and positive pathways for young people
There will be space for open conversation, reflection and shared learning.
Rather than individual visits, this is an opportunity to come together, ask questions, and deepen understanding in a culturally grounded space.
