ECTC Pathfinder Academy

ECTC's Pathfinder Academy is a week long day camp that provides fun, event-filled learning opportunities to students entering 6th grade through 12th grade. This year's event includes a variety of classes such as Art, CADD/3D , Soldering, Sewing, and more!

You may purchase registration for multiple classes for one child at the same time, but each child should be registered separately. Take care to note the grade level and time of each class to register your child appropriately.

Info: This is a week long ALL DAY class. Students will learn how to design cartoon characters! Students will learn how to create compelling characters using simple shapes and dynamic action lines. This one-week course will help students develop their characters from pencil sketching all the way to fully inked and colored illustrations. The course will culminate with a final project where students line up their multiple characters, comparing personality traits and physical characteristics. Recommended for high school level students.

Info: This is a week long day camp where you'll discover the exciting world of electronics through this engaging, hands‑on soldering course designed specifically for high school learners. Whether you're interested in engineering, robotics, or simply love building things, this class gives you the skills and confidence to create real working circuits.
Students will learn:
-Soldering Safety
-Through Hole Technique (THT)
-Surface Mount Technique (SMT)
Students will be able to assemble simple electronic circuits, understand the differences between THT and SMT, and apply professional soldering practices on their own projects.

Info: This is a week long ALL DAY, day camp. This course builds a complete foundation in VEX robotics by guiding students through designing, building, programming, and competing with a functional robot. Students will learn how VEX systems work together and apply that knowledge in a structured, competition-style environment.

Info: This is a week long ALL DAY, day camp. This course focuses on advancing students from basic robot builders to system-level thinkers. Students will explore advanced mechanisms, integrate sensors into decision-making, and transition into C++ development using Visual Studio Code. Emphasis is placed on structured programming, task-based control, and real-world debugging. Required (Hard Gate)
-Ability to build a functional drivetrain independently
-Basic understanding of VEX wiring (motors, battery, Brain)
-Experience with VEXcode (Text: C++ or Python)
-Ability to write simple logic (if/else, loops, functions)
-Completed at least one basic robot program without using AI (driver control with basic autonomous minimum)
-Prior C++ or Python experience
-Prior experience with VEX sensors

Info: This is a week long ALL DAY, day camp. In MIG welding, we will perform several different types of welds, each designed for specific joint configurations and strength requirements.
By practicing multiple weld types, we can learn how MIG welding adapts to different metal thicknesses, joint designs, and real‑world fabrication needs.
