About this Event
Join East Never Loses in partnership with Feminist Center for Creative Work for the ultimate game day! Take a turn at the centuries-old game of mahjong including playing with a larger-than-life version.
East Never Loses is a cultural producer of Mahjong events in the Los Angeles area. Their mission is to authentically reclaim and revitalize the game of Mahjong for a new generation.
Feminist Center for Creative Work nurtures an ever-evolving, intersectional, intergenerational, and joyful collaborative feminist praxis*—modeling ways of working and living through art, programming, media, publishing, and the redistribution of resources, from Los Angeles, within the world. The process is the product.
*Praxis: The everyday habits, conventions, and practice of living theoretical concepts.
Gather & Grow invites the community to spend a day relaxing and playing in Reed Park while enjoying a range of artistic experiences. There will be activities for children and adults beginning at 4pm. Each event offers a unique opportunity to engage in hands-on art making, take in the natural surroundings, and spend time grooving to music, watching incredible performances, and having fun with the whole family!
