Community Partners:
Yennie Zhou, Artist.
Born in Vietnam and raised in China, Yennie Zhou brings a unique perspective to her California studio, where she creates captivating sculptures and installations. Her work is a testament to the transformative power of art, as she repurposes everyday and upcycled materials into thought-provoking pieces. Zhou's artistic vision is deeply rooted in her rural upbringing, where she learned to appreciate the beauty of resourcefulness and the inherent artistry of the natural world. Her sculptures often reflect architectural forms, interwoven with organic textures and subtle expressions of human emotion. Through a process of deconstruction and reconstruction, Zhou reveals the hidden potential of discarded objects, inviting viewers to see the world with fresh eyes. Her work has been shown throughout California, including Burning Man, and she continues to explore the intersection of memory, material, and emotion.
