Earth Day, April 18, 2026, 10am – 2pm Join us for a free community event featuring children's art activities, games, educational materials, and guest speakers. This activity is free of charge. Parking is limited.
This year's event features a first glimpse of the Green Salamander Art Trail before it officially opens! The Hidden in Plain Sight – The Green Salamander Art Trail is a season-long public art and conservation initiative winding through Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. Custom-designed salamander art pieces, each created by a local artist, are installed at participating locations (including Lake Lure Flowering Bridge) across the Gorge.
