Ear Candy Audiophile Recordings - America "America"

Host Bill Brooks takes the controls for Ear Candy: Audiophile Recordings as we drop the needle on the pristine, acoustic-rich self-titled 1971 debut from America.
A masterpiece of mid-century folk-rock production, America stands as a benchmark for acoustic detail, warm tonal balance, and spatial depth. Blending lush three-part vocal harmonies with intricate acoustic guitar textures, the album delivers timeless classics like "A Horse with No Name" and "I Need You" alongside deep album cuts like "Riverside" and "Sandman."
Bill will open the hour with a brief introduction into the trio's London recording sessions, their acoustic arrangements, and why this pressing remains a prized reference record for high-fidelity listening. Then, we turn the room over to a full, uninterrupted spin on our reference-grade audio system—letting every delicate fingerpicked guitar string, shimmering cymbal, and rich vocal blend fill the room with stunning clarity and dynamic warmth.
Settle in, grab a drink from the bar, and experience a folk-rock milestone in pure audiophile fidelity.
