Musica Vocale is pleased to announce Bachtoberfest, an autumn program celebrating J.S. Bach and the composers who shaped him or were shaped by him. The program centers on Bach’s cantata Gottes Zeit ist die allerbeste Zeit (BWV 106), alongside works by Johannes Brahms and Buxtehude that meditate on the late year: endings, reflection, and hindsight.
The concert also features the premiere of Verbum, a new work for choir and period instruments by our composer in residence, Geoffrey Wilcken—celebrating the start of the universal cycle of renewal.
We'll be joined by members of the Kansas City Baroque Consortium under the direction of conductors Jay Carter and Ryan Olsen.
We hope you'll join us for this autumnal program on Sunday, November 8 at 3:00 PM at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, Mission, KS.
This is a free concert and no tickets are required. Donations welcome!
