Lyonia Environmental Center | Deltona, FL
About this Event
Walk through the scrub habitat of Lyonia Preserve and spend some time observing, listening, being aware of our senses, and taking in the essence of the landscape into our memory. We will then take this experience and create interpretive and intuitive paintings of the impressions gathered during your walk. Playfulness and creativity with paint will be encouraged and you will walk away with a painting that is unique to you and your connection to this native landscape. Guest artist, Dira De la Rosa, LMFT holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts, as well as a master’s degree as a licensed therapist, and is passionate about native landscapes and using art as a tool for healing and reconnection to nature. This program is recommended for ages 12 and up and is beginner friendly. All materials will be provided but guests can bring any art supplies of their own to use. Participants should dress for the weather and be prepared to walk on unpaved, sugar sand trails
