🌿 In the heart of the Centre-Val de Loire, along the banks of the Loire river, lies Orléans. A historic city of medieval streets, grand cathedrals and a legacy that helped shape the destiny of France.
This is the France of Jeanne d'Arc: the young heroine who, in 1429, freed the city from siege and helped turn the tide of the Hundred Years' War so decisively at the Battle of Patay that the French expression "mettre la pâtée" (to thrash someone) is said to trace back to it. Wander through the medieval old town, admire the soaring Cathédrale Sainte-Croix, the statues honouring Jeanne d'Arc, the lively place du Martroi and its historic carousel.
Join Lou for a fun and immersive workshop (en français !) and step into the history, traditions and art de vivre of Orléans from the famous Fêtes de Jeanne d'Arc to the Festival de Loire, and the region's culinary treasures: the wines of the Centre-Val de Loire, Orléans mustard, and the beloved Pithiviers.
And of course, we'll wrap up with a tasting of delicious traditional treats from the region!
