This half day workshop will focus on how to identify dyscalculia, through the use of screeners, checklists and observations.
What can you expect from the training?
You will explore practical and developmental strategies to support learners with dyscalculia including
- the use of dot patterns,
- ten frames,
- manipulatives such as Cuisenaire rods.
- demonstration of the value of visualisation strategies such as
bar modelling for solving word problems.
As a result of the workshop you will:
- be able to identify dyscalculia and distinguish it from more
general maths difficulties
- have practical strategies to use in the classroom to
support learners with dyscalculia
