An increasing number of children are vulnerable to developing low self-esteem, anxiety and poor resilience. This has been amplified by COVID restrictions and the fears associated with the pandemic. If not addressed, children are at risk of developing poor mental health with its subsequent affect on their learning.
This practical workshop will suggest ways in which mental health can be improved using social skills and resilience training techniques which can be delivered either in a small group of whole class. It will provide methods for measuring progress in self-esteem, self-worth, social skills and resilience.
Learning Outcomes:
To understand the dynamic features of social skills and reslience and how these impact on children's mental health.
To provide strategies for increasing self-esteem while improving social interaction and resilience.
To consider how we can measure changes in social skills and self-esteem.
