This summer, our vintage train travels to Bedfordshire, home of Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford, who is credited with popularizing the cherished tradition of afternoon tea. Finding herself hungry between luncheon and supper, the Duchess began inviting friends to join her for tea accompanied by delicate sandwiches, cakes, and sweet treats. More than 180 years later, her delightful ritual continues around the world.
