South London post-punk band Dry Cleaning will release their third album, Secret Love, on the renowned 4AD label in January 2026 and will present it at the AB Box.
The follow-up to “New Long Leg” (2021) and “Stumpwork” (2022) was created in the rehearsal room, where all four band members wrote, played and reacted directly to each other.
The album continued to grow during inspiring sessions at Wilco's studio The Loft in Chicago, and during recordings with Alan Duggan and Daniel Fox of Gilla Band in Dublin. The final recordings took place with Cate Le Bon at the Black Box studio, which went so well that it was quickly decided to continue with her as producer, mainly because of her unbridled positivity and open attitude. Le Bon has also produced albums for Deerhunter, Devendra Banhart, Wilco and Horsegirl, among others.
Dry Cleaning live is a hypnotic mix of spoken word and an intense post-punk sound. Florence Shaw delivers her lyrics in a calm, detached voice, which contrasts sharply with the tight, rhythmic energy of the band. The music builds and releases in waves, driven by sharp guitar sounds and deep, physical bass lines.
The result is a performance that feels both cerebral and physical, more a work of art than a classic rock concert.
