Wax Head are on the frontline of a new, growing wave of British psych and garage-punk. Whether through their brain-tickling riffs or their unpredictable live antics, the high-energy, drummer-fronted punk-psych foursome don’t fail to leave a lasting impression. Formed in 2023, the band quickly built a reputation for their wild live shows and relentless energy, as anyone who was present at last year's Cabron show can attest. The Osees and Ty Segall comparisons are evident, but the boys don't let the influences stop there. With pummeling drums, acid-fried synths and piercing garage-punk guitar freakouts, the band evokes a raw power that brings to mind a version of the Stooges if they never-ever slowed down. Or John Dwyer on a speed OD. Now, with a new release under their belts, the Manchester group is ready to unleash their perfect blend of psych, punk, garage and noise on Europe once again. D'apparence nonchalant et inoffensif, le Merci Bonsoir, crustacé farouche s'il en est, botte en touche dès qu'on l'approche. Nos plongeur.euses les plus exprimenté-es ont cependant réussi à le décrire pour la première fois : le Merci Bonsoir crie, mord, incise et secoue ses proies, sur fond de riffs précis comme une piqûre de vive et de déhanchés un peu sloggy.
