Doors Open Day: Glasgow Cinema City

Discover rare photographs, items, and archive footage of iconic Glasgow cinemas with the National Library of Scotland and Glasgow Museums come together to travel back in time to the golden days of cinema-going in Glasgow.. Discover rare photographs and archive footage of iconic Glasgow cinemas in this unique presentation.

Alongside film footage from the National Library’s collections, the Riverside Museum’s Curator Neil Johnson-Symington , of the Riverside Museum, will highlight some treasures from Glasgow Life Museums & Archives’ collections. These collectionswhich provide some clues into the history of going to the pictures in Glasgow, such as paintings, programmes and cinema café menus.

This event is part of the Glasgow Doors Open Day programme.
