Doncaster Works Celebration Event! 20th June 2026
About this Event
On Saturday 20th June 2026, Wabtec UK will host this special event intended to honour the long and rich history of their Doncaster site, celebrate its achievements, and pay tribute to the enduring contributions Doncaster has made to the railway industry both locally and nationally.
Supported by the City of Doncaster Council, rail preservation trusts and community partners, the event will feature a wide range of attractions throughout the day, designed to create a truly memorable experience for visitors of all ages:
Also celebrating the 150th anniversary of the birth of renowned railway engineer Sir Nigel Gresley, which coincides with the event, his iconic steam locomotives the Sir Nigel Gresley, and the world-famous Flying Scotsman will be returning to the place where they were built!
Static displays of special diesel locomotives including Classes 37, 56 and 58
Shunting demonstrations, showcasing traditional rail operations
A museum style heritage display featuring historic memorabilia, artefacts and photographs from the site’s rich past
Railway organisations and information stalls
Family friendly activities including exciting model railway displays, rail object handling and badge making
Children’s fairground rides
A variety of food and drink available to purchase on site

The event is on one day only, Saturday 20th June 2026.
To manage anticipated demand, the event will operate across two timed entry sessions
10:00 – 14:00
14:00 – 18:00
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
No drugs or alcohol can be brought or consumed on site.
No smoking or vaping permitted on site.
Entry to the event site will not be permitted without a valid ticket.
Bag searches will take place at the discretion of event organisers in the interest of public safety.
The event organisers are not responsible for any personal items or belongings brought to site.
