Frog Workshop at Potteric Carr Nature Reserve
About this Event
Join specialist frog expert, artist and author of the fantastic Bug Belly books; Paul Morton.
This event will begin with a fascinating talk all about different frogs from around the world, children can ask questions and learn about what they can do to help frogs and toads in their own neighbourhood. Paul will then talk us through his popular illustrated 'Bug Belly' children's books. There will then be some fabulous frog themed artistic crafts.
There will also be signed copies of Paul's 'Bug Belly' series of books available for purchase.
We will then be doing a hands-on pond dipping session, where children will be shown how to use nets and trays to sample incredible pond creatures that live here within the Potteric Carr site of special scientific interest. We will have plenty of ID guides on hand to help children learn more about what they find.
These activities will be fully supervised and lead by our team at Potteric but we also require a parent or guardian to attend with their child.
If you're taking part in the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust #30dayswild challenge then this workshop falls within the third week 'Learn about wildlife' and this event is a great opportuinity to do just that!
